MACROCOSM TO MICROCOSM
65
The last couple of weeks has been quite a transition for me. I left Bangkok, Thailand on October 31, 2011 and arrived in Anchorage, Alaska about thirty five hours later. When I left Bangkok it was 85 degrees Farinheight and arrived in Anchorage to 20 degrees and snow. A definite shock to the system. The first week was more of a psychic shock going from Asian world view with a lot of European political influence to the narrow jaded and warped view of the U. S. political scene. I went from a world view to a parochial view from Wasilla, Alaska, and I couldn’t even see Russia from here.
There was one curious thing I noticed as we drove through Anchorage on our way to the Matanuska Valley we passed a courageous group of “Occupy Anchorage” camped in the city square of Anchorage. The nights are below zero and the days are snowy, windy and cold. In one of the most prosperous cities in the U.S.A. during the most devastating economic downturn since the 1930’s, there are real patriots and believers in our country enduring the weather of Alaska to show solidarity with the rest of the country and the world over the shame that is Wall Street.
THE ECONOMIC INSANITY
The pure insanity of the economic meltdown caused and fed by the Banks and Wall Street had spread even to the most insulated part of the States, the Northern boundary of Alaska. Of course the pundits that are spewing forth the drivel of the right claim that these issues are too complicated and are not easily solved by “the People”, for we are to simple minded and addle brained. NOT!! That is what they want us to believe. I say most everyone of us knows that 2 + 2 = 4, right. That is how simple our problems are, no matter what any of the so called experts say. When a big spender like J P Morgan breaks the law they just don’t tell anyone and nothing rally happens to them except somewhere down the road the SEC or FDA or one of those federal agencies will catch them and then FINE THEM! A whole lot of money. To you and me maybe, but a mere pittance to them. Less than the amount they paid out in bonuses that year. If they stall long enough the fine gets smaller and smaller. When you get back more than you pay in, in taxes who cares what the fine is. Just add the figures up and subtract the taxes, that is their NET profit. This is not brain surgery, it is simply adding up the numbers. If they say it’s to complex over and over then folks tend to believe them, but they are lying! It’s that simple.
ILLUSION TO REALITY
The whole world is caught up in this illusion, they have the world convinced that if they don’t get all the money the financial system will fail. I say let it, we’ll all be better off. Right now we owe the largest debt, not to China, but to the FED. So all we need to do is dismantle the FED and we owe about $1.4 trillion dollars less on the National Debt, it’s that simple.
This brings me to the microcosm of Wasilla Alaska. Just like any small town USA we all need to take all our money and put it into a locally owned bank or Credit Union. Close Bank of America and Wells Fargo and CITI group and our headaches will be over. Besides they charge less and pay more by supporting our communities and servicing local customers. The big banks are bleeding us dry now is the time to make them pay instead of us, and no more bailouts!

Well said, Peter. I've missed your hubs and am happy that you are back.
Welcome back Peter, there are too many reasons why the Occupy Movement is needed for it to be a complete failure. The TeaParty Movement was said to represent the American people. The American people in the Occupy Movement which has involved more Americans nationwide is called unamerican. In three months there are more American Occupiers than Tea Partiers. The people will be heard and not ignored in 2012.
Hi Peter: Hope you can adjust to the cold there. I complain when it gets about 40F here, never mind minus 40F!
You are so right, The war today seems to be between the banks and the rest of the world. We have to stop this nonsense before we have world-wide famine caused by the banks destroying every economy on the planet. But the governments don't have the will to take them on because they are the chief supporters of reelection and because, like cancer, their tentacles are in all walks of life. It has reached an impasse; they need dismantling now...Don't get icicles on your Johnson! Bob
Hey Peter
Welcome home, glad you're back online but I think in your position I would have tried to get family to Thailand rather than me to Alaska.
The problem with OWS is the lack of a coherent voice. It is laudable that it has a welcome sign out for so many issues but to become a political power they will have to choose issues and fight for them. I don't think complexity will stymie them but cacophony might.
Make no mistake, I support OWS ardently but we need to do more than complain about the injustice we need to offer solutions and support candidates.
I must be crazy because I still see a lot of overlap between Tea Party issues and OWS, but the TP seems to hate the OWS crowd and support the banks. I don't get it!
Nice hub.
chefsref, the TP's water was carried by fox news and defined on conservative radio and tv programs. Most of the people in the movement were older Americans who wanted the government out of social security and medi-care. The OWS on the other hand are mostly younger working and unemployed American. There are also enlighten TP and older Americans involved in OWS MOVEMENT. Liberial radio and tv have not attempted to content and carry the OWS's water. The Democrats in congress have been warned against endorsing the movement or trying to define the movement. The OWS must through social networking define themselves and create a platform to speak as one nationwide. I believe this can and will be done before the 2012 election.
Hey, Peter, good to see you back home, my friend, or maybe Thailland is more a home...? But Alaska is home too, or you wouldn't keep coming back.
Whatever, good to see you back!
Nice to see you again, Peter, you are missed. We have our "Occupy Hilo" in all seriousness here on Hawaii's Big Island. The right does what it always have done so well'bait and switch', taking advantage of their presumption that they have the knowledge and it is better that we neither understand nor delve into these matters. After all, they are best left to JP Morgan? Again welcome back and look forward to reading more from you Cred2
Hi Peter, sorry about your move. Man, Alaska? Isn't that place you're living where that lovely Sara lady used to live (or maybe still does, the dimwit). Seems like the whole new world order thing was just a setup to cripple the globe. Throw the fed to the curb and clean out the shit hole that is Washington. Nice to see you back though I haven't spent much time on here lately so I didn't even know you were gone :-) great hub, as always! Peace!! Tom
Hello Peter ~ I was ready to let the banks fail during the Bush era, then when Obama started to rattle about saving the banks again, I knew we were in for a long ride. Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving, Debby
Many people and small business owners have been talking about investing in the local small bankers and state employees unions. Probably a wise move. Be well, Debby
I agree with the Credit Union solution and also would like others to think about becoming completely self sufficient, no debt, create your own power and barter for food or grow it yourself.
I'm gathering the mental juices to write a Hub about it . . . as railing and ranting about conspiracies is fun, it's not productive.
Need info on flooding in Thailand first hand knowledge can you write a hub about it?
Agreed,
It has become apparent in the last ten years that folks are waking up, will it be in time, who's to say!
I believe the awakening has forestalled many events that may have taken place already, the nuclear detonations under DC and Denver is a good sign.
Benjamin Fulford and David Wilcock have had some good news lately and it shows that folks are becoming willing to fight back as OWS maybe misguided and even staged events it could be a good sign.
I suspect fighting is ill advised, but perhaps hitting them where it hurts (money) could be effective.
Is it good to be back in the USA or . . . ?
