“FASCIST, NAZI !!”

We sure like to throw these terms around rather freely lately. The “Nazi code”, the “Fascist conservatives” but what do they really mean. In a recent Hub by Paradise7 on HubPages she reviewed Elie Wiesels book ‘Night’ about the Holocaust horrors perpetrated by the Nazis during WWII . This in a nutshell is the Legacy of Nazi Germany under Adolph Hitler. So anyone who has not read this book or the many others similar to it should not use the term Nazi so lightly. German people will not even talk about it, it is so painful.
Wickipedia calls Nazism a ‘unique variety of Fascism’ incorporating both far left and far right extremist political philosophies but in practice was a far right form of politics. Nazism became the catch word for the National Socialist German Workers Party.
Fascism on the other hand is defined by Wickipedia as a radical, authoritarian, nationalistic political ideology. Fascists advocate the creation of a totalitarian single party state. “Fascists believe that a nation requires strong leadership, singular collective identity, and the will and ability to commit violence and wage war in order to keep the nation strong.” Both ideologies leave me ill. In reality both are so similar that only their leaders are different. But there are some familiar ideas there that it seems I’ve heard recently.
I’ve used these terms for dramatic effect in certain instances, to get peoples attention and make them think. However it seems the imagery is becoming reality in the case of some of the political moves being used by conservatives in the U.S.A. and even to a lesser extent by the liberals.
What is happening in the states of Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin and now spilling into Oklahoma and other GOP controlled states is nothing less than Fascism and at worst a new form of Nazism. In their zeal to promote their conservative “single party state” they have brazenly thrown out 235years of U.S. freedom and democracy for one party dictatorial rule. In the name of their new banner of “Tea Partyers” they are claiming to take back our country from the socialists and communists by taking away the rights of the children, women, elderly, handicapped, unemployed, homeless and all the rest of the people Adolph Hitler singled out for extermination during WWII in Germany and the rest of Europe.
The big difference is the TP’s don’t single out Jews they just throw them in with blacks and other people of color and the rest of the indigent non-producing members of our society. Aren’t we better than that? We are the children of the “Greatest Generation” our fathers and mothers saved the world from the Nazi horde but for what? For the children of the Klan and the hateful to jump in and run the country? For the single Party system of the GOP to give away our freedom and the country to the mega-corporations?
In the name of balancing the budget they will take the food and clothes from the children the medicine from the sick, the teachers from the classrooms and at the same time give the rich and the big money corporations more tax breaks and lower tax rates. Who works for who? It looks like they work for the rich and we get to work only if they let us. Life is not fair but it shouldn’t be a preordained sentence to slavery and dictatorship. Soon we will wish we lived in Nigeria instead of Ohio, Afghanistan instead of Michigan. They are even making Somalia look like a vacation spot.

Someone, this is an important Hub to me and I am so glad you are responding to it. It seems that everything having to do with politics is smoke and mirrors and most of the people in this country don't know it or don't care, and we all really need to care. Thanks again and I'm following you, Peter

The next couple of weeks will be pretty rough so I am not certain how much work I will get done. But when I publish you will be the first to see. I noticed they didn't have Bachmann on tv this Sunday morning. I guess they firgured she should keep her mouth shut. I am still waiting for a retraction from her camp about the oil reserves.

Good day Peter, Another well written hub that will be ignored by those who need to read and understand what they are really woking towards. I was talking to a friend last night who is a conservative and he thought that our generation was the last one to grow up in America while it was still the greatest nation on earth. He is starting to relize some of the lies he has been bying into and is getting justa litlle upset about it. At last is all I can say. 1 down and millions to go. I guess if we do work long enough and hard enough three more conservatives will wise up this year.
What amazes me is that those who work so hard to balance the budget by using the tactics of the GOP, have children of their own, have relatives who are sick and elderly, and rely on the teachers to educate their children. They are no where close to being rich enough to qualify for the tax breaks they demand for those who are. When did it become so popular to sacrifice everything a person has worked for to feather the bed of those who own the damned chicken farm? We are seeing the results of 2 decades of dumbing down America and the dumbest are working to bring about their own demise. It kills me to hear the GOP faithful get mad when someone seeks to protect them from their own stupidity. They publically demand to know what right we have to keep them from committing social and economic suicide? If it was just them that were being ruined, I would be more than happy to allow them to destroy themselves. Unfortunately, they seek to take you and I with them. Too bad Palin doesn't holler "Think Baby Thin. Not that many conservatives would heed this advice anyway.
I agree with you about almost everything except conservtive republicans are ignorant or trying to take everyne down with them. Palin and Bachmann aren't conservatives. Their behavior alone screams liberalism. Palin is so far left in the publishing industry and with he rHollywood Tv gig. Bachmann is left as well since she is a foster parent of 23 children and received government subsides.
I think Plain and Bachmann don't represnt conservatives but instead a radical representaion of the right winged base.

Hey JT, I use their labels loosely. What I call them they would consider a curse. Actually there are no words for them and the things they do and stand for. They are mindless drones doing the bidding of their handlers. If they realized what it is they are really doing first of all they wouldn't believe you and if they did they might kill you. What is happening now will change the world as we know it. I may be safer than you living here in Thailand. We have a new Prime Minister a beautiful young woman named Yingluck, things here may get dicy also. The world is in transition and all we can do is hold on and keep our eyes wide open. Stump, your friend may be right. The things that are going on in the country don't bode well for the citizens. I admit that I'm glad I'm here and my daughter is in Alaska. We may be lucky enough to get through the next few years without getting shot or jailed. The Koch brothers and the rest of the Uber rich will not sit lightly with the masses getting to restive and the way the potus has been acting lateley he may take up with them. In any case something is going to happen soon, they are pissing to many people off for this to go on much longer. Hold on to your hat it is getting interesting.

I think one of the worst aspects of Fascism is the economic theory that Mussolini called "Corporatism." This blending of business and government is endemic in our government and no one calls our politicians on it. Truth is, it just seems so "American" that no one seems to mind that we are becoming a Fascist state.
I would like to exempt the Dems but the Obama admin is full of people plucked from business to run agencies.
We are ripe for a third party to represent the people but the moneyed powers are arrayed against us.
Chefsref unfortunately we're both right. Our unique brand of "American Fascism" seems to be taking shape under the guise of a 3rd Party of "Tea Baggers". The real menace is the money behind them, we cannot let this happen to our country. Peter

I just saw a documentary about a scrap book that just surfaced. Put together by a German Office who helped perform the nazi's dastardly deeds at Auschwitz. He lied at his trial, imagine that, and was set free. I will get the name of the officer and film and give it here.
Several Fascist governments have fallen in the middle east resonantly. I believe you can call the religious fanatical governments Fascist. Their propaganda is all about hate and taking over the world.
I find it hard to understand there are those who believe the Holocaust didn't happen. See what you want to see and believe what you want to believe never should we be so blind to see that hate is an except-able posture for a government.
You seem to understand the situation correctly and have a good grasp of what is going on. Lying will not change the reality just like the lies here in the US will not change the reality. Thank you for the comment and glad to see you here,

I am from Michigan and our new governor is making us really nervous. When he came up with the thing about taking a city's governing officials out and replacing them with what I'd call "his group of men", it really did reek of fascism.
We are wondering to about taking so much money away from education, because that is so important to the success of the state and country. Do they want the lower classes uneducated so they can pull the wool over their eyes? I am wondering exactly what exactly they are trying to pull. It is making me nervous.
I wish more people would read this hub. People need to know what is going on.
You are right on Peter. Look at what they do, not what they say. I have a feeling that more voters are doing that this time around.
Barbara Kay I am from Michigan myself and my family is there and I am terrified what is going on there. This criminal who is the Governor has set himself up as a King with powers that not even the President has. He is no better than Hitler. I am shocked that there is no legal action going on to stop him before he guts the state. This type of gestapo tactic is being copied in many states with Republican Governors, the people must rise up and stop this type of politiics before the country itself is ruined. There is a petition going around to get him out, but we've only seen it once and then never have heard anything more about it.

I just looked it up on Google. It says it has to be filed by August 5th to be on the ballot. Maybe I'm not hearing about it anymore because it is already filed????

I think I probably use those terms too much - especially "corporate fascism," but I'm not sure what else to use to describe what we've got going on these days.
